Hooker part# 2055-1 is the coated version for third gens with single catalyst 3" pipe diameter and AIR fittings. 2055 is same thing but without the coating, and will rust in a few short years.

Try Thunder Racing at http://www.thunderracing.com/ as they carry Hooker parts and are a sponsor of this board. Their prices are competitive with Jegs and Summit in every case I've shopped.

Then it looks like you are stuck with SLP's. They have headers without AIR and a 3 inch Y-pipe. They do have an o2 bung also.

Hedman also makes non-AIR headers that are shaped to fit into a 3rd gen, and you can plug the O2 sensor bung.

Check out www.hedman.com for info.

well i know that Hooker makes a set of headers that dont have AIR on them but i was wondering if the ones that i need will fit on my car, meaning that i need them to fit inside the engine bay and hook up to my exhaust or if this wont work does anyone know if the stock LG4 headers will fit...

FLOWTECH... they are rad.. i just installed mine yesterday.. i have an 86 LG4... only 200$ for the headers and Y pipe... fits awesome.. no emissions junk on them.. they come painted black..

i was looking for headers to buy for over 6 months.. and in those 6 months i talked to everyone on this web about every header out there... from edelbrock, to SLP, to hedmam, hooker, ect... i went with flowtech and you really cant beat them for the money.. very awesome... i have the part # for you from summit of you need them... but the part # is for an 86 305 camaro.

if you buy headers for a SBC in your thirdgen than it wouldn't matter if you had a 55 265 or a 86 305 or a 70 400. There all Small block Chevys. I got the Heddman Hedders and ypipe from summit for $200 and they work and sound great. No smog stuff came black also that was just flaking off so I got them Jet-Hot Coated which is pretty sick but was more than $100. Any of the brands would do what you want, Flowtech, hooker, and heddman just make sure they come with a y pipe because it aint cheap to have the exhaust guy to it, plus most shops don't have a mandrel bender and if they do it really aint cheap.
