what do you guys think bout these headers

hi,
i just bought a set of hedman ceramic coated headers, they are the shorty style, they dont have a y pipe, will my factory one work?the headers are 1 5/8 primaries, and 2.5 collectors,so im thinkin it will,if not,ill just have to order it through jegs, also, with these headers and a gutted cat, through a 3 in flowmaster catback, with my mods, what do you think it will give as far as power?
my mods include,
355 sbc

10.1 pistons with 64 cc heads, but i went with 70 cc heads and they are edelbrock performer rpm's,with 1.6 rockers,

i will have the performer rpm intake system, with cam lifters intake and carb, with a hei distributor, and thats about all,it will have a 6 speed tranny as well, thanks.

The headers will not fit to your y-pipe. You need to order the correct Hedman y-pipe. Ceramic coating would be a good idea while you're at it.

What cat do you have that is gutted? A 3" TPI-type should fit the Hedman pipe (if you order it for '86-'91 single-cat TPI, that is), and would probably out-flow a gutted factory cat.

Sounds like a pretty nice package you're putting together. I won't hazzard a horsepower guess, but certainly a good bit. Some would say the Performer cams aren't that great, but they do work.

hi,
does anyone know weather i can run a factory oil pump with my engine?i have a square bottom pan on my engine now,but i need to get rid of it,for the factory ran exhaust, and machine shop said to watch that it wont run my oil dry going up hills trying to pass someone or something like that,i want a factory pan,

also,i went with a extreme energy cam, when i called to order the kit,the cam was back oredered,so,i went with the ex 268,im thinking weiand stealth intake,or rpm intake,i also have a 625 cfm carter carb, and of course 70 cc rpm heads.

you can use a factory pan as long as you use a factory pump......high volume or high pressure pumps will run a stock pan dry.
