make my own exhaust??

well unfortunately school started 2days ago but i was talking to my welding teacher and since we have to do our own projects i was thinking i could make a 3" cat back for my car, i was gonna just buy like the cheap hooker headers and y pipe and then make the cat back myself, what do you guys think? good idea or too hard? the school just got a mandrel pipe bender also so thats why i got the idea..

If you feel up for it, then I'd definatly do it. If it doesn't work out you could save up some money and get a decent cat back.

hell if you have access to a mandrel bender, make your own y pipe too and save even more money. with access to a mandrel bender, you pretty much have endless possibilities when it comes to exaust. you can make true duals, 3 inch, whatever you want really.
