Hooker 2055 install question
When I put the passenger's side header in, should I do it from above or below? It looks like from above I'll have to remove a bunch of crap. I've heard from below you just have to remove the starter. What's best? Thanks

Hey. When I installed mine I put it in from the top. You gotta remove some of the stuff to get to it but it's not hard. I also had to remove valve cover as well. After that it "slipped" in. Let me know if you need any more details.
I tried it from below but I couldn't get it in. But whatever works best for ya...

I removed the starter, the coolant tube thing on the frame, and I moved the AC out of its bracket. But to remove it I didn't wana take out the starter again. I got it back out(somewhat forceably) with just the AC moved out of its bracket and that coolant line not there.

Tas,
So what you're saying is that if I move the AC out of it's bracket and remove the coolant line, the header should be able to go in from above?
I just dont want to make this installation any more complicated than it has to be! Thanks

Bend the AIR tubes in towards the head some. I used a vise. Then install from the bottom. REmove the starter. THis is also the time to install a new fan temp switch if you would like. It will take alittle force, but it will work.

Also a good time for a new starter.
Shoot, I took the engine out to put the headers on. Well, actually, I put the headers on when I had the engine out (I cheated).
