Welding to Coated Y-Pipe?

Just trying to work out some potential problems/questions before I buy anything. If I have my Y-pipe coated, will it be difficult or will I have to do anything special to weld my cat to my Y-pipe? Just wondering...Thanks

Hello, You can weld to the coated pipe no problem, you really dont even need to grind it off , the coating is conductive and the weld will burn right through it. Have done this myself.. Later, Dave
