No, as long as they have all the necessary smog stuff on them they are fine to run in CA. You might have to get headers with the AIR sensors and O2 sensor, I think. Yeah, just make sure that what you are buying complies with the CA smog rules for your car. -89IRO

Hooker 2055's hands down.....O2,air, healthy y-pipe...good price even....I'd get 'em if I needed the air myself, but I don't ...If only some company could make them like this....Primaries like SLP, a ypipe like hooker, and a price like hedman!

So as long as I have the sensors on the pipes, then im fine. Cool! I'm gonna check out the shops around here and see what they offer.

Now I know that Headers can cost a pretty penny, if I hold off on Headers and go with Flowmaster 80 series Muffler, will I be ok as in sound and performance with my stock headers?

You'll need the sensors and AIR logs

First of all, only shortie headers are legal in CA because full length headers require to relocate the cats. Second, ONLY shortie headers that are approved by C.A.R.B. are legal for use in CA. C.A.R.B. is the California Air Resource Board. My SLP Tri-Y's have a C.A.R.B. sticker that I have applied to the inside of my passenger door, other makes of headers will most likely have a C.A.R.B. plate welded onto the header with the C.A.R.B. approval # showing.
