Are these any good for $175????

Hooker Super Competition Headers Hooker Part number HOK-2055. Apparently only the headers and install kit. What else will I need to hook these up? Have a 350 TPI don't think the current exhaust is stock...don't know since I'm the 4th owner....one (looks like) 3" pipe all the way back to and out of the muffler.
Everyone tells me it doesn't sound like stock...

How used are those headers? I f they're very rusty/dented/bent at all, I'd probably steer clear of them, even though they're about half the price of new. One used set of headers was enough for me - they looked good, but I was taken in by the fresh coat of paint. And I bought these from a "friend". 2055's are what I'm planning on using on my car, but I haven't actually laid eyes on them yet. A couple of thoughts come to mind, though. Do you have a 3" cat now? If not, this is the time to get it. You can even get one that is the proper length, Catco and Random Technologies might have it. If you have the cat, and it's not stock dimensions, you may need a short length of pipe to make it fit. With a 350 TPI, your I-pipe would be no larger than 2-3/4", so your cat-back doesn't sound stock to me, either. Hope this is what you need.

If those headers have never been warm, you'd better grab 'em before I do!

Flowmaster makes cats now? Since when?

Go back to the place that put the cat on for you and ask them what size it is. They should have it on record.

Also ask them where they got a "Flowmaster" cat. They must have pulled it out their *** and stuck it yours, 'cause you got it in the *** bigtime.

Next ask them for BF Goodrich wheels and see what they say. I hate shops that lie like that!!!!

OK, so I'm a frickin' idiot....or maybe just getting old...how about FloMax for a cat converter? Went by the muffler shop today and seemed to see a few boxes of converters that said flomax...BUT then again, I could be wrong once more.

I DO KNOW for sure I have a Flowmaster muffler with 3" pipe to the 'Y' pipe. Tech at the shop says the 'shorty' headers should bolt right on to what i've got, so looks like I might be in good shape when the headers get here.

Sounds like it should work, if your cat has a 3" slip-fit inlet.

FWIW, Hooker doesn't call it an "install kit". Those headers do come with y-pipe, bolts, gaskets, and some spacers. Hopefully, whoever is selling them will send all of the stuff with them. Except the gaskets, you'd be better off with Fel Pro 1404, much better than the cardboard things they send with the headers.

The ebay info said no Y pipe....didn't say anything about the gaskets, etc......MAY only be the headers themselves....

If it doesnt have the y pipe you will have to have one custom made by an exhaust shop. You might be better off waiting and getting some that come with the y pipe unless there is a good exhaust shop around you that wont charge an arm and a leg.

You can get brand new Hooker 2460, which don't have the y-pipe either, from Summit for $149 shipped.

I would not pay $175 for only part of the 2055's. The y-pipe is the real beauty of the set.

Get the y-pipe with the headers...it will be cheaper in the long run.

ajm_shorty....that's all well and good as long as you don't have emissions requirements to meet...and the new texas standards are supposedly on a par with califorina and we all know how those environmental wackos are
