If it's so difficult you're not doing it correctly. They didn't make the car for you to mod, they made it for you to buy and pay them to maintain.

The hardest thing I found about putting headers on our cars is the tabs on the manifold bolts...to me forever to get the last one out of the pass side. with the AC box it was so hard to get to. Finally did then the process went much faster.

Definetly doesnt seem like GM wanted us to mod our cars...on the other hand it seems like ford built the mustang to mod....

E X A C T L Y....you cant really go wrong with stock parts...well for the most part. If you mod the car of course your goin to have problems. The more you mod the more maintainance becomes an issue. So leave it stock and your car will become more reliable. Stock..ahahaa...yeah right.

Sure they made them to mod, but they also made them to handle, and the design of the car has to change for that, which is why they are so low and there isn't much room for alot of things.

What I wanna know is why some people have to dent the headers before they go in and some don't.

It's not so much difficult as it is time consuming.

I find if you work like this, it's a lot easier.

Oh yeah the metal tabs on the stock manifolds were my favorite. Would have been a 2hr job if it wasnt for those bastages.

i know those things were a pain. after the manifold were off it was pretty simple...if your car doesnt have a AC heater box it would be real simple.

I think you all touched on it - you need the patience of Job if you want to get it done without mangling the headers or the car.....I to take quite a few "time-outs" during my install....but the finished product is worth it!
