Yea glasspacks are cool. I personally like them. I had them on
my 79 trans am with a 455 olds. Headers, into true duals,
no cats, and 16" glasspacks and pipes out the back. I loved
the backrapping it gave. Really a classic hot rod kinda sound.

You cannot "break" the glass in a glasspack, the "glass" is nothing more than fibergass cloth wound inside around a perforated core. Back in 1972 in Smokey Yunick's book "Power Secrets" he talked about how much power those type of mufflers rob.
I personally thought the rapping crackle was cool in high school and a think it's cool on my buddie's dad's '51 Merc, but I woulndn't want my car to sound like that. Too much of a cop caller and then they notice all the OTHER stuff once they stop you. I have noticed since I quit driving like an idiot in city limits and had mellower (still not quiet) sounding exhaust I no longer get stopped all the time.

I got glasspacks on my 79 Z28 the ones that bolt right to your header with a 3" in and 2" out. They're like 16 or 18". They sure are a lot quieter then open headers. They may rob power but IMO they sound better then Flows. And I used to have the flows on this car. Listen to the sound bite on this site of the guy who has bolted up flows, packs, and somethin else to his car. To me packs sound like you have a fire-breathing exhaust. But sounds appeal to different people
