Hooker cat-back on a 2.8L?

Hey everyone. I'm driving an '87 Camaro with a 2.8L V6, and my muffler is going so I gotta get it replaced. I want to install Hooker's cat-back exhuast system, but I'm afraid that the 3" pipes may be too much for my car seeing how small the engine is. Does anyone know if it'll be fine with the Hooker setup, or am I gonna have to go search for a system made for a 2.8L? Mods seem pretty hard to find for a V6. I'd love to get a nice aftermarket exhuast in my car, but I want to make sure what I do I do right. So any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Andrew

Don't waste your money on it. Just get the muffler.

Dynomax sounds pretty good on 6's and the pipe diameter would be the right size for it.

Hello, thanks for the replies. I've looked into the DynoMax Ultra Flo exhaust system and I think that's what I'll be getting. How is the DynoMax sound though? One of the reasons I wanted Hooker was because (just about) everyone on this board likes to praise their sound (but, I suppose I shouldn't be too picky considering it's just a 6). With that in mind, if money was no object, should I just put a Hooker muffler in with the pipes I have now and have the hooker sound, or buy the whole Dynomax system, and have nice mandrel bend pipes? Thanks!

Buy the whole cat-back. The stock pipes are tiny on our cars (at least the V8's, not sure about the 6's) and not bent well. Sound wise, dynomax (super turbo) is a little louder than stock, which is too quiet for me. I'm not sure about the Ultra-Flo though, it's probably a bit louder. Aerochambers sound really good on V8's, but I'm not sure if it would on a V6.

Thanks for the help everyone. I decided on the Dynomax Tulra Flo stainless cat-back, and just ordered it. Thanks for the help!
