Which headers? 1 5/8, tri-y, 1 3/4 ???
I have a built 383 with NOS and was wondering if anyone has an Idea of what headers I should run. I was thinking of a set of Stans 1 5/8 Tri-y long tubes Or should I go with a set of 1 3/4 shorties, or should I get a set of 1 5/8 shorties? Thanx in advance.

I'd go with 1 3/4" headers for your setup. Long tubes if you dont have to pass smog.

I agree, for the 383 I'd go with 1 3/4, I have a set of the Stan's 1/58 try-Y's on now, and also a set of SLP 1 3/4 that I'm changing to. The Stan's pipes are long tube and both tubes exit about four inches in front of the tranny X-Member, making exhaust routing more trouble than it's worth. I have dual exhaust, but no ground clearance because of where the pipes exit and how you have to run the exhaust. I suppose if you've got time and patience you could heat them up and bend them or something, but I'd say go with something else, and definatly bigger for the 383. Just my 2 cents.
