High flow cats

i am looking for some mid 13 sec passes out of my 91 Z i got it running a best of 14.15 all stock with a borla cat back. The borla didnt help me at all and i have been told that some high flow cats should pick me up i am just begging to get into the 13's. Any advise on if the cats will work and what brand to use would help. Plus if anyone has anymore suggestions on how to acheive my goal it would really help.

Bad Blk Z, I am going to move this to the Exhaust Forum. I think you may get a better response there.

you are not that far away from 13's with a stock car.. i would get some basics like an airfoil , K&N, and port your plenum, you should be in the 13s with a good launch then.. as far as the highflow cat,, it will not put you in the 13s,, and if emmisions isnt a problem, i would gut it and save some $.

alot of pros( guys who write performance books) say the difference between a gutted cat and a hi flow cat is 2-4 hp. Not that big a deal, but it may be worth almost a tenth. You'll probably get that nast sulfer exhaus smell without the cat though. Add a K&N cone filter and inatke and you'll probably hit 13's, this mod knocked .25 seconds off my V6. Oh and try some pulleys, they help a little to.

Depends on how much you want to spend. A high flow cat will cost a lot (random tech $220) and it won't give you the HP/$ that somthing like a set of headers will get you. But you aren't far from the 13s, like what was mentioned above, a few small things can get you into the 13s for sure.
