i just put my headers on and had the local exhaust shop cuton make my y pipe. the y pipe is a 2.5" into 3". took the cat out and the y pipe goes right into the cat back system. love the way it sounds and it really looks good with the dual quad tail pipes!! BUT.. i have a wierd smell that i have never smelled before and i have had quite a few different systems on my car. but this is the first set of headers. just had an idea though i did spray some wd40 on the stock manies when i took them off and torched the bolts off. maybe that could be it?? will the smell go away?? also the system sounds great. pretty quite at idle and really deep and loud when u hit the fun pedal.. will the muffler break in some and get a different sound like most do?

When I got my flow installed, it had a funky smell about it for a few days, maybe a week, don't remember exactly. Anyhow, I would guess it's just that lovely new-muffler-smell ... but you might have a better idea since you went headers and all. Aa far as the sound goes, I think all mufflers get throatier and deeper as they break in (right?)
