Has anyone who has installed a flowmaster muffler noticed a power change? I want to add the crossover dual with a 2 1/2 dia. to complete my exhaust. I already have a catco cat and edelbrock headers. I hoping that this muffler will complete my system and open things up. Any comments?

 

Why run a flowmaster? everyone and his brother are running a flowmaster. The Hooker aerochamber flows better and has a distinct sound unlike any other muffler. You will not notice enough gain from just a muffler on the street. But the sound makes you feel faster!!!!!!!!

 

If your going to go with the complete system, I'd first of all go with 3'' piping, at least between the cat and muffler. No use going with any performance exhaust if you wanna' keep the pipes small. I have an 80-series flow and a 3'' intermediate pipe. A huge increase in deep-throaty-sound, was accompanied by the only performance gain I noticed: the engine chews up the lower/mid revs a bit faster than before. The 305 also seems better "into the groove" around it's torque peak. I'd go with flowmaster, there's a reason "everyone and his brother" is running flows I'd got it for price and sound.

i agree, the hooker cat back is a great package. this is what will be going on my new formula in the spring- sounds great, and gets u the same amount of power as any other cat back will.

Flowmaster rules........ Best muffler ever. I noticed a change with my flowmaster cat back. I did not even get the 3" pip installed yet. Soon to get true dual 2.5" with 2 flowmasters and shortie headers.
