Header installation cost
I have a pair of Hooker competition shorty headers, and i was wondering what i shoudl expect to pay to have them installed. I am gonna get those put on along with 3inch exhaust with no cat. What should i expect my bill to be at about $47 per hour??
Thanks

iheard a couple people on the boards pay around 150-200 bucks for installation, i guess that sounds reasonable for like 4 hours of work by a shop

Most exhaust shops prolly won't want to do headers anyways.

Well i don't think it will get done this year. For 1 being that it's gotten cold and started snowin lately (live in MN) and 2 i don't know if i trust myself to do it........everyone says it's gonna be hard as hell

i tried doin it myself. lol, all the bolts holding together the exhaust were rusted. so i had to cut all the pipes off. then i tried getting the passenger side header off.... ha, yeh right maybe if i didnt have a/c. good luck, my mechanic did it for $250.

This job is not an easy one to do yourself, especially if your car is know to have a little rust. If you have bolts that are rusted together and a job that appears to be a pain in the *** then you will pay $$$. After all, like many have said shops pay by hour. Also check into your y-pipe. Will your stock one bolt up, or a new one same as stock?, or are you going to need one from hooker. If neither of the two work out you might need a custom one as needed in my case. Good luck

I used a lift, it wasn't that bad. I took my time and it lasted three days. That also includes paint. If you could do it from the underside I would.
