How can i tell???

How can i tell if i have stock exhaust??? I have a 91RS that i bought used. The guy who had it before me only had it for a few months and didnt know much at all about the car. My uncle who is pretty knowledgable got into my car and said he didnt think it sounds like stock exhaust...its not extremely loud, but its got a pretty nice deep rumble. What can i look for to tell if its stock?

look under your car...look at the muffler...any stamps or names (brands) on there?? how big do your exhaust pipes look??
do the pipes look 9 years old or 2. rusted brown or silvery? ugly stock tips or big tips chromed etc. hope this helps.

Most aftermarket exhaust has nice smooth bends in it. The stock has "notches" on the inside of the pipe bends. Also look at the muffler for a brand name, if it has GM, something like Midas, or other non-performance companpy muffler stamped on it its probably stock. But if it says Flowmaster or Borla it is probably aftermarket. Also check to for headers or a manifold, and if the cat has been removed.

Stock exhausts on these cars are very quiet....when I first bought mine I used to fishtail when getting in gear whenever I had the windows rolled up because I couldn't hear the engine. If you can compare the sound of your exhaust to one of a 5.0 mustang then it is probably aftermarket
