I believe the 2 and 3 way designation refers to how many pollutants they convert. IE if it has 3 catalyists or 2. I don't know which one of the 3 is left out w/ a 2 way converter. 3 way doing carbon dioxide, Nitrogen whatever, and HydroCarbons.
I could be totally off base but I did read this somewhere.
It is not regarding the presence or not of the air tube for sure though...
