Ok, i have some questions.
What size is the pipe going into the stock cat on a 305 TBI motor?
What size is the stock cat?
What size is the stock pipe exiting the cat and going into the muffler?
The reason why i'm asking is because i want to get the Flowmaster muffler(jegs #389_43083) and put that on. I want to get a 3" high flow cat and put that on with a 3" pipe going into the flowmaster muffler. I also dont know wich high flow cat to use; either the 2-way or 3-way or 3-wayw/air inlet tube. I want a good muscluar sound w/ no "popping" when i let off the throttle and want to keep it emissions legal. I want the 3" because next year i will hopefully replace the 305 with a 350HO and also need help on which Edelbrock headers (or any other better suggestions) i would use with the 350HO.

Any better suggestions on either a better system or muffler?

get a 3 inch hi flo cat (catco, random tech, dynomax) (whatever you want) with AIR.
3 inch flowmaster cat back.
