I was thinking about getting one for my car, because I want my car to be frickin' loud when I want it, however, if it is going to be loud, it also needs to sound mean, and don't want it to be loud and sound crappy. Anyone have any sound files of their car with a cut-out? preferably with my engine? Any info is appreciated.

want a sound file. just disconnect your exhuast from the cat or y pipe and there you go, that's about what it is going to sound like.

I really enjoy the sound of my cut-out. Doesn't sound crappy at all. Sounds really aggressive and very loud

I have a Black 1991 Z28 5.7 TPI (L98) with 3 inch cat back series 80 Flowmaster, both cats removed, 3 1/2 tips, and a 3 inch Summit Racing exhuast cut out with a Borla Plate (the Borla Plate quiets it down a bunch).....and I'm VERY please with the sound of it. But....I do have to say.....if it's all the way open.....it's WAY WAY to loud and does sound trashy.....atleast on a 5.7 anyways. What I recommend doing if you decide to get one is getting a McCord Power Plate II. Herte is the WebSite: http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/pictures.htm It's an electronic valve that allows you to adjust the tone of your cut out from inside your car......just by the flip of f switch....ur from quiet...to loud....to deathly loud! I have the 3 inch cat back series 80 Flowmaster exhaust and I love the tone of it....but....the way I have my cut out set up.....you can still hear the tone of the Flowmaster....and the cut out provides it with that really deep, low, loud ,aggressive tone....sounds more like a series 40 Flowmaster...but more like 7 times louder.

Not to sound mean or anything....but I disgree with what Turtle is saying.....when you have a cut out installed......all of you exhaust is not coming out of the cut out.....it's also still coming out of your muffler....which is awesome....because your still getting the tone from your muffler. If you just disconnect the whole thing and have the exhaust dumping out from your cat.....it will sound like crap.....on my exhaust.....the cut out really just makes the hole exhaust sound alot louder.....and can still here the flowmaster out the back.....but....if you wanted to just see what the cut out sounded like with no muffler....you could do what Turtle said....and again...I'm not trying to be mean or anything Turtle.
