Why is my ADjustable Borla exhaust so quit compared to my old FLow master??????????
I ve been meaning to ask this since I got my Borla adjustable system. My old set up was a dual outlet Flow Master with 2 foot long 4 inch diameter tips. I could here my car idle from inside my house. With my Borla with no plate in which bypases the muffler I CAN'T hear my car at all when I am inside. If I am next to another 3rdgen which has my old set up and I have my borla theirs is always louder. I cant say which is louder at cruising speeds though as I have never been behind one at those speeds. What would make this difference? The tips? If it is the tips i am going to make mmy own adjustable system with my old tips because I want to be loud at both idle and cruising speeds not a annoying sounding loud but a nice deep loud rumble.

borlas are not known for their sound so much as the quality craftsmanship and flow. they flow more than flow master....and are stainless steel if i remember correctly. not only that but they are light weight.....well atleast your wallet will be!!!

I am by passing the muffler and running straight through the tail pipe. So with no muffler I thought a car would be louder no matter what exhaust system you have.

Just about all the sound come's from the type of muffler. Flow master's american thunder is loud but the borla Adjustable is made for people who have respect for the law and community. Ive gotten two tickets so far with my flow master's and dont plan on changing them.

Whenever I open the bypass on my borla, it's way too loud, noone ever complained, but it hurts my ears.it doesn't rumble like flowmaster because of the heavy gauge stainless, when it was still stock w/a hollowed cat, I would take the scenic route through the wealthy nieghborhoods maliciously triggering every car alarm on the street.
try fashioning oversized tips,it would probably look & sound pretty cool.
