Attn: Much Needed Borla Help

I got a borla muffler from a swap meet and it dosen't have the y pipe connection that goes into the muffler and out for the ajustable plates and passager side exhaust pipe. my idea was to just use a y pipe from my old edelbrock headers and cut it to fit the inlet on the muffler and run an extention on the other side to the tips. Does this sound like it would work or is the design of the plates nesasary to make the exhaust go through the muffler.

with all due respect, your better off just calling up borla and ordering the new piece, you have the 14888 84-92 chev camaro system (they only make one for 3rdgens) the part you need is 43987/42701 3x16.5" inlet/3x6" adjustable pipe A,it's really one piece, because they are welded together. you could use your "old y-pipe idea" or have it custom made at a shop theats seen Borlas before, but anything less than 3" dia stainless steel would comprimise the purpose of the system. even if the HP from your engine is too low to require 3" pipe, that system will last forever probably enough time to save up for the horrifieng machine most of us wish we had in our cars,it's like an investment for the future.
if your cheap like me,you probably don't want to pay borla whatever they want for there part.if you can convince them that you bought it and compared it too a friends system off the car(say you both got the system for your birthday or somth'n) and your pipe was all FUBAR. they might just send you a new piece for free.you may need someones reciept. call:1 800 9275129 ex205 steve,213lewis. sure it's cheating and it' wrong, but they cheated me,f^ck'em

Thanx JYD the part # above are for the Intermediate Pipe and the tail pipe right? I thought borla would not sell the separate or is the trick to tell them mine's damage so they'll replace it? would'nt they ask me to send them the damaged one to prove I'm not trying to bluff them?
