Headers?

Headers?

I have a 2¾ stainless steel innermediate pipe going to the flowmaster and out as two 2½ pipes. I was looking into headers for my car, and I have read a lot of good about Edelbrock's one pair. i can't remember the name, but they are black and I believe have the emissions still on them (will be cut and welded) Now is the Y pipe on them too small for my application. Do they really help as much as they say? (up to a full second off 0-60) Should I just get the headers and then a custom Y pipe? Is it a BIG increase from the stock manifolds?(i heard the headers are pretty small)

I think youre thinking of Edelbrock TES headers?
Ugh - ANYTHING is better than stock exhaust manifold =)
as far as how much better, I hear from alot of people who have the edelbrocks that the headers arent too impressive. Mark will be along in a bout half a heartbeat to tell you to get Hookers hehe. And as far as THAT goes hooker has the rep. above edelbrock for exhaust anyday.

not that you care - but im gonna do Dynomax all the way. Headers - super cat - super turbo catback. =D

You are thinking of the Edelbrock TES headers. I have them and am selling them, though the pass side air tube was cut off , but can be fixed, you can PM me if you're interested.

they do come with a y pipe new, and that black paint will burn off on startup.

The headers will increase performance and sound greatly.

They are decent headers, some dislike them some don't . There are better ones out there from what I hear, but like said these will outflow the stock crap exhaust manifolds and crappy y pipe greatly.
