Hooker shorties

I can't make the passenger side header fit. From the top, the flange won't squeeze through between the block and the wheel well. From the bottom, I can almost get the thing to slide in, but it looks like the wheel well is sticking out about an inch too far for it to fit. Also, even if it were to fit, I'd have to switch to a mini starter because there's no way on earth it would slide down in there with the stock starter in place.
Does anyone know of any problems like this with the Hooker shorties?

What shorties are you tring to get to fit? If they are the 2055's then all you have to do is bend the air tubes inwards. I didn't have that much of a problem. I installed them from the bottom.

They don't have air tubes. I'll have to get back to you on the part number.

I had that same problem. If you have the hooker comp headers then all you do is take out the right engine mount bolt and jack that side of the motor up a little.

Ahhhhh! Thanks for that little tidbit. I'll try that. They are Comps.
Now, can I get some volunteers to come to Georgia to help me put it all back together?

My car was on a lift. With out the air tubes my headers would have been a lot easier to install. Just up from the bottom and a little force. Worked for me. Good luck.

I got my hooker shorty in from the top without jacking the motor up. I had to remove the spark plugs, fan switch sensor, starter, flywheel cover and the top half of the AC heater box and it went in.
