I have an 89gta 5.7 and it has a single cat.I took off the cat today and put in a straight pipe.I notice there was little pipe connected to cat.My friend told me that I don't need it. Just wondering will it hurt my engine since i took it out?what is it?and what does it do?

those are polution tubes. It wont hurt n e thing but it will make an annoying sounds and its bad for emmisions
