Headers,high flow cat, cat back?

ok i have some questions and need some opinions. Ok, right now i have a TBI 305.
But, next spring or summer i plan on dropping in an emissions legal version of the ZZ. Soon i plan on doing my exhaust.
Im planning on goin w/ SLP headers, good high flow cat and hooker catback.

1.Should i go w/ the SLP's in 1 5/8 or 1 3/4?

2. Which high flow cat should i use in the $100-$200 range?

3. Any other suggestiong on the cat back?

Im planning on getting SLP's w/ the adapter to go to 3" cat, and full 3" cat back.
Do u now the part numbers for which cat i should use and also the numbers for the cat back?....It also has to be emissions legal and not obnokciously loud

Thanks, u guys (and girls) fukin rule!

well....since your price range is so high on the cat...i would say get the best...random technology...its pretty close to 200....if you wanna spend less....other companies make em....mor-flo....dynomax....catco...check summit for those. cat back ay....not too loud?? dynomax isnt too loud. but with headers and a hi flo cat you gonna have some trouble stayin quiet....try dynomax. i like hooker personally....the headers too. if you mind is set on SLP get the 1 3/4 headers....they are emission legal and are the same price as the 1 5/8 only they are better....especially since your gonnna upgrade to a 350...you may lose some torque with the 305 and 1 3/4 but itll pay off with the 350. hooker makes less expensive emissions legal 1 5/8 if you wanna go that route. good luck

the # for the 1 5/8 shorties are 2055. IRS has me for 150 w/o AIR, 200 w/ AIR. i think. they come with a y pipe too. i think they equal or surpass SLPs personally....they have been around since the 60s. the cat back is 16822....well that is the cheapest one...and if you replace the cat...that is the one to go with. its cheaper (200) and can be welded to the new cat you get. the others are 16823 and 16821 i beleive. those are around 259. good luck again.

I think I'm going with the hooker shorties as well, as long as you get the ones with air they will pass emmisions.
I am planning on geting them coated, I found a place that i'll do it for 150, seems worth it to me.

Since its a 350, you'll for sure want the SLP 1 3/4" (wish I had gotten them). TPIS sells the Random Tech cat for $213. And I have been very happy with my Hooker Cat-back, and it set me back $260 from Jegs. I would stay away from the Dynomax, but along with the Hooker the packages from Edelbrock, Random Tech and a the Flowmaster American Thunder systems are great.
