Hooker problems...

Thought that subject title might grab your attention! (ha) Seriously, I just had my Hooker Aerochamber cat-back exhaust system installed and I had TONS of problems. The driver-side pipe exiting from the muffler had the hanger welded on at about 30 degrees too far to the left, so they had to use a generic hanger on it. The passenger-side pipe exiting from the muffler was about two inches too long, so they had to hack off a piece of it. After they did that, the pipes were WAY off center from each other. They ended up having to totally do away with that pipe and make one on their own to get the stupid thing to line up. THEN, the chrome exhaust tips wouldn't tighten up enough with just the brackets, so they had to tack-weld them on to the pipes. Does this sound like a "bolt-on" system? Has anyone else had problems like this? If so, did you call the distributor (Jeg's in my case) and try to get some money back? I had to pay about $20 extra just because their stupid pipes were all screwed up. My advice to anyone wanting a custom exhaust system: buy the muffler and let an exhaust shop totally fabricate the rest. It's not worth the hassle or the extra money.

Maybe the muffler shop put the exit pipes on the wrong side! That would account for one exit pipe being too long and the hanger being misaligned on the other. Just a thought.

Nah, that was the first thing that I checked. The pipes were just all messed up. The only saving grace about the whole thing is that the exhaust sounds A-W-E-S-O-M-E now! It has the sweetest rumble and it seems to pull a little harder, but it's probably all in my head (ha). Anybody else had problems with their Hooker system out there?
