yeap, headers or stock exhaust manifolds bolt to the y-pipe, which has two pipes that merge into one pipe, roughly in the shape of a "y" or in the case of the stock "y-pipe" more of a "t"-shape. the single pipe coming from the y-pipe then attaches to the catalytic convertor. from there the catalytic convertor bolts to the intermediate pipe, which runs from the catalytic convertor, back the length of the car, over the axle and into the inlet of the muffler. the muffler is of a crossflow design and has 2 outlets where the tail pipes are attached.
