This is what edelbrock has to say about gaskets, for there headers.

I would use Fel-Pro or Mr.Gasket, gaskets
And use Permatex Ultra Copper silicone.
With this it will never leak again.I would not use the aluminum or copper gaskets.
They standard header gaskets and Ultra Copper works great

That's fine, just remember if you do like I did originally, and use the header kit's rubber donut gaskets, you're outta luck when it's time to replace, or heaven forbid you have a leak. Go to meineke or somewhere similar and buy steel ones, you'll thank me later.

You'll never get those donuts off your y-pipe, they melt to it, we had to use a blowtorch and cus for about an hour to get them off mine, the steel ones cost more, but they are reusable and have a great seal, lets you torque down on the bolts to your desire. Just a recommendation. There's a lot of heat created there.
