I got a Hooker....

Yesterday I got my Hooker Aerochamber muffler and chrome tips put on. I was expecting it to be a lot louder based on what everyone says about Hooker, but it isnt all THAT louder than stock. I am still satisfied with it though. Does it take a muffler a few days or weeks to get "broken in"?

I think it could be cause i didnt buy the whole cat-back system, just the muffler with stock pipes. What if just got a "high performance" cat? Would that effect the sound at all?

Aaron. You are suffering from the catback denial syndrome. My friend has the EXACT same muffler as me but with 3 inch catback, while mine is the stock 2.25. mine is mild, his is wild. go get ya self a 3" I pipe and axle pipe and hook yo **** up.

It really does make a big difference? Okay well thats good, I can probably get the 3in. pipe put on pretty cheap. Should i get dual 3 in taipipes too, or just the headpipe?

i think the tail pipes will be fine...but its up to you. i personally dont care too much for the quad tip look and will be cutting em off of my hooker cat back as soon as it gets here. if you want loud...try a hi flow cat or gutted cat and headers. both will help perf a LOT too

The tips aren't on it, you have to put them on. Don't just throw the tips away, I think they cost at least $20 a peice maybe more I can't remember.
