flowmaster 40 series baby! and exhaust manifold question. please respond

i just dropped off my car today to get my single in/dual out 2.5 inch flowmaster 40 series exhaust put on. im hoping for some power gains and sound increasing but i will let u all know. i have a slight hole in my exhaust manifold and i want to know if anyone makes a high performance one or if i should just have mine welded or something. thanks

well, i never heard of a HI preformance exaust manifold other than the headers that are available for out car, (hooker pt##2055, edelbrock tes pt##6872, headman, and slp)they range around 350 a set (headers and y-pipe) except for the slp ones, they are stainless steel and more expensive. now i hear its a PITA to get the manifolds off
(i will find out next month) now, the manifolds are cast iron, can they be welded?

I've never tried this, but spreading a big glob of JB Weld on the hole/crack in the exhaust manifold is worth a try...and cheap.

If the exhaust on your 2.8 V6 is the same as what's found on the front drivers, then yank it out and put some headers on. Unlike the 305 or 350, I don't think ANY good exhaust was ever available for that engine from the factory.
