Anybody had problems w/ headers?

Has anyone here had any trouble with headers burning through power steering pump hoses and such on an LO3 91 RS? My dad seems intent on not letting me buy headers because they used to burn through his power steering pump hoses in his old mustang he had. I really think headers will free up alot of hp amd torque on the 305. please help me on this one....also, what brand headers did you use?

Headers will burn through anything if you leave something lying on the tubes. I burned through 3 spark plug wires after I installed my Jet-Hot-coated Hooker headers since they had straight boots and laid on the primary tubes. Sounds like you dad did route the power steering hose properly when he installed headers in his rustang. The will definitely help pick up some power and torque, even on a stock 305.

As mentioned above, I have the Hooker #2055 headers, but they won't mate up with you cat and cat-back. I think only SLP and Edelbrock have headers that will work in your car.
