How did you guys replace the pasanger side manifold with a header

ok, i see the driver looks ez (in comparison) now, i see the dipstick comes out, starter will be out (droping the oilpan so i figure a good time to do the headers)
the pipe that comes off the smogpump to that little box will be out. so now i have a manifold in clear veiw (as clear as it gets)

the first few bolts look ok, 3 i can get from underneith, howbought that last one? i see they are rusted in place. how can yo uget that last one and be able to put force on it??

thanks

I think with just about any header you'll have to raise the engine a couple of inches, I know when I installed mine I already had the engine out so cant help you much there

Header installs on 3rd gen camaros are pretty straight forward. As long as the frame is straight, they pretty much drop right in. Sometimes you have to bend the brake line a little or massage a little bit of stuff here and there to make them fit but nothing major. It's a nightmare on the 4th gens. Unbolting and raising the motor, removing the oil filter, 2 peices on the driver side that never seem to want to join..... Excedrin anyone?

When I installed my passenger side edelbrock tes header, the only thing i had to do was take off the valve cover to get an extra 1/4 inch of clearence for the flange. dident have to remove the starter or lift the engine, but if you happen to have a crane and can pull an engine quickly that would probobly save alot of time and cussing

When I did my header install, I had to pull out the motor mount bolt on the side I was putting on. I took my floor jack slid it under the car put a block of wood on the jack and gently raised the motor up little by little. Just be VERY careful when doing this. Under any circumstances should your hands be in the way of the motors path if wood decides to give also use a new peice of wood not somthing that is rotten. I used a 2x6 and the motor didn't budge but please be careful.
