cat-back systems

I have a 3in flowmaster single exit muffler on my 88 IROC. It's 3 in from the cat on back. My problem is it sounds like ****!! It's way too quiet and it doesn't have the unique flowmaster rumble. What does the flowwmaster cat-back system sound like? I want to turn heads. What does it consist of? Catalogs aren't very clear in description and neither is flowmasters website. I'm thinking about the American Thunder system. Is it just a single inlet dual outlet muffler or is it dual mufflers. I'm keeping the cat on so if anyone has this setup or heard of it, let me know. Thanks.

Get a set of headers and then burn ur cat off and put in its place a 3" straight pipe (weld it in) I guarentee you will like the noise u get. I have a custom 3" exaust with what I just explained above and I love the noise it makes. Deffinetly turns heads and turns on car alarms.

Thanks, I know that would work and I've thought about, but there are pending emission laws coming where I live so I want to keep it legal. I want a dual outlet flowmaster exhaust, and the American Thunder system is supposed to be the best. Has anybody ever heard or already have it? If you do I would like to know what it consists of.

I had the same problem with my '89 exhaust set-up. Mine is the same as yours except for the cat. When the cat came off the muffler woke up. The cat is not to hard to put on and take off for testing.
