What kind of headers will fit my 305?

What headers are available that will bolt right on to my 305 without modification?

P.S. i'm only 16 years old making about $60 a week, so price is an issue!

Thanks!

Well, the cheapest I know of is Edelbrock's TES Headers. They make them for pretty much every year and engine type of the 80's and they start at only 313.99. Or if money is still an issue, you could find a cheap set of used TES headers....i dont know where though. My best bet would be go down to the Local 1/4 mile track or any local Car Shows that might happen to be around there and ask around. I'm sure some hot rodder has an old pair lyin around somewhere. I'm only 17 and make around $110 a week so money isn't a total concern for me. I'm gonna be getting a pair of jet-hot coated TES headers in the spring. With all my mods they should be worth a good .3 seconds in the quarter.

man, you've got the same problem we've all got. forget the TES's, go with heddmans. $99 plus $109 for the y-pipe. I haven't had any problems with them. you'll save atleast $100, if not more because that $313 may not include the y-pipe

Yes, you will need a new Y-pipe, but nearly all of the headers (including the Edelbrock TES) include a matching Y-pipe. The Hedman's are a good deal for a little over $200, but the end of the Y-pipe might not mate up with your catalytic converter. If you have TPI and it's an '85, the only headers that'll fit properly w/out needing some custom exhaust work (ie: not a true "bolt-on") are the Edelbrock's.

The only 2 compaines I'd buy headers from for a thirdgen would be SLP and Edelbrock. Since your just a few years younger than me, I know how ya feel to be strapped for cash, but the TES headers are a GREAT investment and it was definetly worth the $320 I spend.
