Which are the best headers to install in my V8 350 TA?

I have a 1983 V8 350 4 bolt main engine. I have a mild cam(Lunati) and a shift kit. I was thinking about replacing my headers and exhaust. I was thinking about putting in SLP headers, and flowmasters. What size headers should I put in my car? Also, what are the best headers to put in my car? I dont want to spend too much. I heard that SLP and Hooker were the best. Any suggestions? I dont want to spend too much. Thanks.

The good ones cost some money.

I would say Hooker Super Comp full-lengths are the best, followed by the SLP stainless. Both are 1.75" primary, but the Hookers have 3" collectors compared to the SLP's 2.5"

There are some others out there very similar and probably cheaper... MAC, Headman, Walker, etc..

good luck & hope you like what you pick

I had the SLP's but got rid of them because they interfered with my angle plugs. I switched to the Hooker long tubes, even though i haven't received them i'm really sure they will increase my perfromance and not fry my wire boots. Hey ODB you like your long tubes, and did you have any problems with them going in??

I run the SLP shorties. My friend Shawn ran the Hooker longtubes. They made big power but there were problems going on. He had clearance problems with the stater (required a mini-starter), and with his frame-rail (required grinding). He also removed the bellhousing ears from his 700R for clearance (be careful when doing this to not leave a rough surface which could form cracks).
Basically they were a pain, but performed super.
