"x" pipe ???

"x" pipe ???

i heard this guy talking about x pipes being a lot better than anything and adding a lot of hp and i have never even heard about these and i asked him if he meant y pipes but he said that they were called x pipes and that crossed over do you know about these x pipes and if they really are that good

X-pipes are primarily used on cars that have a true dual setup. Mustang guys use them alot. They are called so, because there is a place in the middle where the two pipes are welded togehter and form a X in the pipe, and yes they are open to each other where they are connected. I've never heard of anyone using one on a Third Gen. I hope that helped.

There really isn't enough room to put a 'x' pipe on our cars. The only real "ecconomical" way to get a dual exaust is to run 2 pipes down the same place where the single pipe is. Even then it's not really worth it.

would making our cars dual exhaust make a significant increace i have a 305 just to let you know if it makes a difference

No, especially with a 305. A single 3" exaust is good enough for a good sized 350. Just stay with your single exaust get headers and a good cat back system and you will be happy.
