O2 sensor and headers How?

I would like to use an O2 sensor just so I can have a air/fuel gauge to make the carb tuning a little easier. How can I put an O2 sensor on my headers. Is there any problem putting the sensor down after the collector or does it need to be next to the ports for some reason.

Thanks

You can put the O2 sensor anywhere you want, but its best after the collector but before the cat. However, the further away from the collector it is, the less functional it will be. It needs to stay hot in order to function properly. Or you can get a 3-wire heated O2 sensor.
