Collector Gasket Question

I finally got the stupid thing going again, after an electrical problem. I put a new gasket on the driver side and now that it runnig I smell something burning. I know that smell. It smells like a toasted spark plug wires but the wires are not touching anything. It closely resembles that electrical smell but not quite.

My question is, Can the gasket be making the smell? It is a Mr. Gasket Ultra seal. Silicone with steel mesh. It has about 25 minutes of runnig time on this gasket. Should it be heating up to "set" or something? I had the stupid "paper" gaskets on it before, so I wouldn't know.

Please tell me yes otherwise it would be my worst nightmare..."electrical wiring fire" or some crazy thing..

Thanks
Chris

it is normal to get smoking and smell after a header install or gasket change. It will go away in a few days.
If you're worried about wires then inspect everything from underneath.

Yeah, I looked and looked, and I did not see anything (wires) touching anything hot (header). So, I will chalk it up to the gasket...for now.

But here is the bad thing, If I smell something burning and it is not the gasket, and it is not a wire touching soemthing then that means it is a wire burning because of a short or bad insulation or some other "bad case scenario" thing. I'll keep and eye on it. But if this hass happened to someone else just let me know so I am not afraid of bursting into flames.
