Pontiac 400 exhaust problem
Pontiac 400 exhaust problem
I currently have an 1982 Camaro Berlinetta. It came with a V6, but I installed a Pontiac 400 that I came across. I have a stock Z-28 exhaust from the cat back, but I am unable to do anything with the exhaust from the engine to the cat. I don't know anyone else that has done this engine/car combination so I have nowhere to turn for this question. If anyone has a third gen firebird or camaro with a pontiac big block, and has any info on helping me with the exhaust please let me know. Thanks
nathan, i would imagine you could use the stock pontiac manifold, or possibly some of those performance manifolds i see advertised in pontiac magazine once in awhile and then just have a custom y-pipe made. Its hard to tell not knowing how much room you have available to work with.
i'm planning to go to a true pontiac 400 as soon as i get around to it and havent done much research on the swap, what were the major problems, how'd the mounts line up and what not.
