My friend and I were off-roading in his jeep. It's already loud because of headers and 3" duals. We came up over a bump and when we came down, the exhaust broke off just behind the headers. On the way to the exhaust shop, a cop pulled us over and gave us hell for driving with open headers. It took us nearly 30 minutes to explain to him that the pipe broke off and that we didn't take it off. He still gave us a warning though.

I drove my car 30 miles to the exhaust shop with open headers (god it's loud too!) and I got stuck behind a cop at a light and followed him a ways, but he turned into the donut shop so I don't think he even noticed me
I had a 3" cutout on my y-pipe that I always left open and never got busted..

Here in new york the cops r mad cool. MY 71' equipted duster had a set of dual sraight pipe cherry bombs and it sounded awful even with the heddman headers so i took out the cherry bombs and ran open headers and drove it around all over nothern blvd here in ny and i havent even got a ticket. I was by a light and as i was driving along a police vehicle came right next to me, and i was scared sh#tliss untill i rolled down the windows and he said rev it rev it and it seems as if he went back in time into the 70's it was cool. i luv cops.
