Cat back system... now or later?

I own an 84 TA 4bbl HO. I'm eventually going to replace the 305 with a 350. Along with that motor swap, I was going to get TES headers put on the new block (since it will be out of the car and makes it easier).
When I got my car it had a new exhaust already on it (about a year old), so I really don't want to change it just yet due to my limited budget. I do want to get a cat back system installed eventually though.
My question is, would it be sensible to put in the cat back AFTER I put in the new engine with the headers, or should I just wait and save my money so I can do it all at one time? Thanks for any help.

I would wait and do it all at the same time. Cause with that new engine, I know ur going to be looking at it and then saying, "Now I got to put on that sh*tty cat-back." Know what I mean? Thats like doing heads and then bolting on the stock manifolds to them. Just disappointing.

If you want to drop your new engine in, then by all means go ahead and do it. There is absolutely no reason to wait till you can afford a cat back to go with it. It'll run and sound better with a good cat back, but it will still be better than what you have.
Hell, when i put my 350 in my 85 i ran it through stock manifolds and a stock 2.25" cat back for a few MONTHS before i could even afford a cat back, and it was years before i got headers.
