I'm purchasing SLP headers. It appears that there might be slight contact with the steering shaft, but that moving the steering column to the left inside the car may help.
If the motor mounts are old (like mine) they might cause a problem but that problem can be rectified by new mounts.
The installation kit includes gaskets and adaptors for a sensor or two. A must.
Do i need their spark plug socket? What else should I be aware of?
I've checked the archives and have found these to be the more popular complaints/remedies. Anything else?
background: currently 305 TPI. will change to a 350 TPI possibly in the summer. Exhaust will be complimented by a 3" cat and catback. Possibly Catco/Flowmaster combo.

I have an 86 305 tpi and there wasnt any clearance problems with the steering shaft, i did move two brake lines to the other side of the shaft though. didnt have to pull the dipstick out and they both slid in from the top with 16 year old motor mounts. all i all they were pretty easy to install, a lot more than i had originally thought. i have 1 5/8" slp's to catco to american thunder cat-back. pics on my site

If only I could figure out why the background on the web site keeps disapearing.

Thanx.
I just picked them up. I got them from the local classifieds. They were $300 for 1 5/8, including the y-tube. They were not previously used.
I'm glad that they're 1 5/8 because I can install them now and not have to worry about the potential torque loss and them probs associated to the bigger headers with my current 305. Plus when I do install the 350 it won't be all that radical. Plus it will be all street driven. My go fast car is my project 65 mustang fastback w/ 5.8L EFI /5-speed
.
This camaro is my daily driver so i'm just looking for better performance while replacing the older OEM stuff so I don't have to worry about it having so many miles.
