Hooker or Flowmaster?
I'm trying to decide if I want the Hooker cat-back or the Flowmaster American Thunder kit.
What would a 50 series Flowmaster sound like that comes with the kit? Does anyone know how much the American Thunder kit is?
I want a deep sound that you can hear coming and feel in your chest when it gets to you. This will be running with Hedman shorty headers their y-pipe and no cat. And of course the cat-back will be 3".
Those of you that have heard either of the systems please post your responses.
Does anyone have opinions on either of the systems? I'm hoping that this all won't be one sided. Sorry for making this all so long.....Thank you for your help!

I've heard both systems and I have the dual exit American Flowmaster 3in. cat back system. Both sound good, I would be happy with either one. But I prefer the sound of the American thunder it has a lower tone, more of a rumble sound. I also like the dual 3in. stainless pipes coming out of the muffler better than the hooker ones that split into 2 pipes a the end.

Are the pipes coming out of the flowmaster just round pipes for the tips or are they slash cut like the stock mufflers are?
I am very happy with my Hooker system, but if the American Thunder system had dual, opposite side exits availble for my car, I would have bought that one. I think the American Thunder is like $325, I got my Hooker from Jegs for $260.

I don't think you can go wrong with either system.I have the 3in american thunder and added a 3in catco cat and it has a nice low rumble.I also liked the round chrome exhaust tips.I think the split tips on the hooker system look very good too,and everyone on this board that has that system has said good things about it's sound quality.I think you'll be happy either way.Good luck.
