Borla exhaust

I noticed in the Summit catalogue that they sell the mufflers and the tips in a kit for $300 something. The full cat-back is $500 something, what exactly does the full cat-back come with that the kit below it doesn't come with. Wouldn't it be a cheaper way to get Borla exhaust to but the muffler kit and then buy semi-cheap exhaust pipe to fit the rest up to the cat, it seems as if there would be no bending necessary??? Does anyone have any links to a thirdgen with borla, I would like to here it. Thanks in advance.

get under your car and take a look at where the pipe goes over the axle.
Then you'll know the answer to your question.

So the part that goes over the axle is the one that doesn't come with the borla muffler kit?? Wouldn't it still be cheaper to have that part made, vice paying the extra $200 for the entire cat-back kit? Just a thought, I don't know much about the exhaust or having exhaust done by a shop. Thanks

Not sure it would cost $200 in a shop, but a stainless three inch mandrel bent intermediate pipe with the correct turns and hanger would probably be best just purchased along with the muffler kit. You could go aluminized for the I-pipe at a muffler shop and save some cash, at least $100 I'm sure. My Dynomax kit came with one, but the whole kit only cost $160, it's aluminized. People may say it will rust out, but not too quickly in Tennessee. Besides, I can buy three of 'em for the price of them fancy Borlas .

Anyone have a sound file of Borla on a third gen. I went to there website and heard the cat-back, I didn't particulary like it, not muscle car enough for me. Any suggestions. How about sound file of the American thunder flowmaster. Thanks again

I used the Borla bends to go over the axle because they were good.
I made my own I-pipe with aluminized 3" pipe along with a 20 degree bend from torque-tech.

The Borla doesn't sound like anything else at all, but it's fairly quiet and flows better than anything else. They work best for power & that's why John Lingenfelter uses them.

I'm with ODB on the aluminized I-pipe. That's probably your cheapest and most effective way of doing it.
