Ive got a completely stock 83 Z28 with the 5.0L HO L69 engine, but I am haveing a hard time finding a good exaust system that is suppose to fit my car. Flowmaster and the like seems to only sell systems to fit like 85 or 86 and up. Anybody have any good Ideas for me? PS I wasnt sound and performance. Thanks.

 

when you say exaust system do you cat back or full system? as for cat back you will hear a million different opions. some people will factor in cost, some sound, some power. then do you want singel exit or dual. stailess or aluminized. one question is how long will you keep the car? when I bought my car it was ten years old and the exause was just a mess. so if this is a keeper you may want stainless. in that catagory you have slp nice kit but it is left exit only. $370 have a brand new setup sitting in my garage I never sent back. then you have borla $550 (I think) system is ajustable can be opened up but does not have a complete intermediate pipe. you cut your old exaust and clamp to it or go have a new piece made. this is what I have. sounds nice but I sure wish the kit was complete. random tech has a new kit out stainless dual exit comes complete I am looking into $595. then you have the normal kits. they are all around the same price most come complete. I would be hp diffence bettwen kit is really marginal. as this point I would chose sound and look for my decision. I personally thing the flowmaster single exit kit sounds the best but like the look of the dual. Magnaflow has a kit that looks sweet but have never heard it yet. my friend just ordered one so we will see. If I didn't want stainless I would get the flowmaster just cause I have always loved thier sound. I have never liked the sound of dynomax mufflers I think the edelbock is a bit calm. I have never heard the hooker kit in person. so this is where you preferences come in. If you have heard many mufflers thier cat back systems tend to compare in my opinion.
