Anyone with an edelbrock cat back, question about the system

i saw it in summit, part number edl-5672.
it looks like from the picture the muffler is attached at a 3 bolt flange? would this leak. also does it rust out, it says stainless steel and lifetime guarentee. i am just wondering on the actual truth and can it survive a NJ winter.

also how does it sound? loud or deep and rumbly?

thanks

Sounds good I would go with this or the flowmastert they have diffrent sounds but they are my favorite. Stay away from hooker they sound more like a old muslce car.

I have the Edelbrock exhaust system, but I don't recall it haveing a 3 bolt flange, the flange shouldn't leak but don't take my word for it. I put my system on over a year ago and the muffler has some rust on it but it has been through snow, salt, sand ,dirt, and rain.It isn't very deep rust that would rust out for a long time but there is a little rust. The system has a nice purr to it not loud but not quiet. after a few months with the system I also gutted my cat and added Edelbrocks headers and now it is sounding kinda loud. Hope that helps.

well my edelbrock system is in the process of surviving its second NJ winter...its hold up well. though i havent been under the car lately to look at anything, i dont believe its rusting much or anything. i had someone put the exhaust on (as well as a starter and trans mount for $45 bucks!!!) but i looked at it before it went on and i dont remember any 3 bolt flange, i believe all the connections are clamped. it sounds nice... its not really loud at idle, but peopoe still hear me pulling up to their house. and when you get on it it sounds awesome..i always set off car alarms w/ it lol i would reccomend the system, i love it. by the way, when it is first installed you will be dissapointed w/ the sound but after a few months it starts sounding nicer....

CamaroZ, could you answer as many of the following questions as you can, PLEASE???

1) what is overall mileage?
2) what is highway-only mileage?
3) at what highway rpm and at what speed?
4) Have you had it dynoed???
5) How much vacuum you pulling at idle?
6) what idle speed R you running/is best?
7) how is stop-and-go driveability?

I ask because I am helping a buddy doing ALMOST exactly your config to his car soon (same CR, cam, etc), except true-dual exhaust and, possibly, use the computer controlled TBI-ECU distributor. He'd/I'd be interested. Thanks in advance
