good cam sound or not?

I have a 355 with headers no cat single 2.5 back to dual 2.5 tips. Right now I have no muffler. I was wondering if the flowmaster will make my cam lobe sound even better. Also does it sound good. The cam lift is .488 & .510. Thanks

I personally hate the sound of flowmasters.

one thing I notice right away is that 2.5" pipe is not enough for your 355. Also if your pipes are machine bent then your exhaust is likely killing a large amount of your power.
You need something more like 3" mendrel bent pipe, and some kind of expansion chamber near where your CAT is/was.

If you want to accent the sound of your reversion instead of eleminate it, then put your expansion chamber or expansion pipes at the rear of your car. For instance, a single 3" mendrel pipe back to just over the axle, and then flare to a single 4" tailpipe. Should sound pretty obnoxious.

If that is a Edelbrock RPM cam, it should sound nasty. I have 3" single with a two chamber and it has a pretty cool and load exhaust snap to it.

So, if I'm loseing horsepower because of the 2.5" exuast, then how much will I gain if I put in the 3" cat back system. How much do u think I'm losing.

I had the same cam in my chevelle. it had dual exaust with fowmasers and it sounded bad *** . hate them or not I never had anyone tell me my car sounded bad. exhaust is always go to have a little bit to do with personal preferce. I don't hate the sound of any V8 with nice exhaust. but I like some mufflers better that others. only down side to the flowmasters on the camaros that I have heard is that when you rev it you will sometimes get a pooping sound in the muffler as you let off the thottle. I am asuming it is drawing cooler air back into the muffler. if you love the sound of a flowmaster get the catback. they sound different from any other muffler in my opinion. I have borla on mine and it sounds good but in a different way. I did't get the flowmasters cause of theier lifespan. I plan on keeping my car so I don't want to replace the exaust ever few years.

If you run the Edlebrock camshaft..
I would guess between the cam and the exhaust you're losing at least 1/2 second E.T. and around 3 MPH.
