Replacing stock y-pipe, need some advise.

My y-pipe seems to sag really low on my 89 305 TBI firebird, so I'm going to replace it at some point.

I've read that the stock y-pipe is restrictive, is this true ? I don't want to replace my headers as I've been told this is quite expensive, you'll noticed that I'm in UK, so I just want to replace the y-pipe for now, but seeing as I'm replacing it I might as well go for something better. What do you all think and suggest ?

I've already had a new cat-back exhaust fitted and also replaced the cat with a straight pipe. The new pipes are 2 3/4 inch in size, the same as on a GTA.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Geoff

I would definitely go with an aftermarket y-pipe, being that the original y-pipe is very restrictive. I believe SLP makes a Y-pipe that replaces the stock one. www.SLPeng.com
