my friend just brought this up....
on his '87 TA he had problems getting the bolts that hold the exaust manifold on.

i was woundering if this is a very common problem and if so there must be a simple way to deal with it.

 

They do have small tabs on the bolts on some cars, mine did, so you have to bend those back before you can get a good grip on the bolts to loosen them. Otherwise you just have to use any wrenchs and swivils you can to reach the bolts. I do know that a lot are easier to reach from under the car. Good Luck!

the bolts aren't typically rusted and curroded to the point where its extremely hard to remove them?
