why that flexible stuff? Just use a straight section of pipe in place of it. Its easy to install and you dont have to worry about breakage with a pipe. The cat also serves as a structural member of the exaust pipe so anything flexible will allow the exaust to move around with respect to the y pipe. Since everything is on rubber mounts, the whole exaust is designed to move as a contingous unit.

id stick with the solid section of pipe to be safe... I was using a section of pipe teperarily and the pipe came off and the whole exuast past the cat was dragging on the ground. There isnt enough support without a sectiuon of exaust pipe there. The only thing i had to get was a pipe with a slip on section with an inerr diameter equal to that of the cat and a slip on connector with some clamps. Cost < $15

Probably a reason why you don't see that done much.... One thing that comes to mind, is how durable is it?

All those flexable hoses were ever made to be is temperary fix for a rotting exhaust and nothing more.
It wont last and you'll be replaceing it in 4 months IF your lucky.
Just buy a peace of pipe and 2 clamps you'll be much happier.

Seriously though.. the biggest drawback I've heard about the flex pipe is it's severly prone to leaking... i.e. one big piece of leaky pipe.

Smart move. Those flexable pipes are useless.
